The upcoming Marvel Rivals Season 3.5, launching on August 8th, will introduce a new system that automatically moderates players. This update features a new Duelist character named Blade, alongside a new map.
Additionally, NetEase plans to implement adjustments to several existing characters and introduce stricter penalties for players who abandon matches unexpectedly in ranked mode.
Like most live-service games, especially those focused on competitive play, Marvel Rivals has its fair share of toxic players. Therefore, it is not surprising that NetEase plans to take strong action against such gamers in the upcoming Season 3.5.
New Marvel Rivals System Will Automatically Moderate to Combat Toxic Gamers

In a recent YouTube video on its official channel, Guangyan “Guanggang” Chen, the Game Director of Marvel Rivals, announced details about the Season 3.5 update for the game. During the Season 3.5 Developer Vision video, he stated that NetEase will introduce an automated moderation system for in-game chat, called “Operation: Shield the Community.”
This system will modify the in-game moderation tools in Marvel Rivals, aiming to prevent toxic behavior in both chat and voice communication.
Further Information About the New System

Unfortunately, Guanggang did not specify what penalties would be imposed if a gamer is caught by the automatic moderation system. It is also unclear how punishments will be enforced as a result. However, they confirmed that every report received automatically by the system will be reviewed manually.
Guanggang also announced that certain updates started being implemented on July 24th, which was over two weeks before Season 3.5 began. In addition to introducing new characters with the Duelist role, named Blade, and a new map, Season 3.5 will also introduce a new feature: an in-game chat filter.
Through this feature, players will be able to filter and mute specific words only for themselves. Additionally, NetEase will monitor the most commonly used words and consider adding them to the blacklist.
