The recent surge in AI technology seems to be unstoppable. It’s no longer limited to corporations or the creative industry; the general public now incorporates AI into their daily lives as well. However, how much should we rely on this technology?
Dangers of Socializing with AI: Health Expert States AI Should Not Replace Human Roles

Kasley Killam, a health expert and author of a book on social well-being, reveals that becoming addicted to AI as a form of personal and social interaction could potentially have negative consequences.
At a panel dur ing the SXSW Conference in Austin, United States, Kasley mentioned that AI could offer benefits if used to learn how to interact. She also added that this technology should be employed to expand our knowledge, rather than replace our real-world connections.
He expressed doubt about AI’s ability to assist humans in improving their social skills. In his view, many AI companies promote their technology as a tool for practicing conversation and enhancing other social abilities.
AI as a Friend and Partner Considered Dangerous

Kasley recognizes that many people are already using AI as friends, partners, husbands, and wives. In his view, this is somewhat concerning because we have created a culture where humans rely on AI for companionship.
However, if AI is intended merely as a supplementary tool and not meant to replace humans in their social roles, it should not pose any issues, says Kasley. Problems will arise if AI becomes the only source people rely on.
