Valve Asserts Steam Machines Still Planned for Release This Year

The chaotic situation surrounding RAM prices has undoubtedly caused many companies to hesitate before launching new products. This is currently the experience of Valve, which is planning to launch a new mini-PC Steam Machine, a VR headset called Steam Frame, and an updated Steam Controller. However, fans are now becoming concerned about the timing of these releases.

Valve Announces Steam Machine Will Still Launch This Year

Initially, Valve planned to release the Steam Machine in the first half of 2026. Now, with only three months remaining before the launch window, the company does not seem to be preparing to deliver the device to customers anytime soon.

In Valve’s latest blog post, there are suggestions that they are uncertain whether the release can still happen in the first half of 2026. However, the recent article also indicates that Valve remains committed to launching a mini-PC and two other products within this year.

They also revealed that the shortage of memory and storage is the main cause and the biggest challenge. As a result, Valve cannot specify an exact release date because the market conditions for these two components are constantly changing. More detailed information will only be shared once a final decision has been made.

The key point is that Valve no longer refers to “the first half of 2026” or the early part of that year. Instead, they simply state “in 2026,” which can be taken as a delay or extension of the original schedule.

They hope that this crisis will come to an end soon, allowing both new console and PC products to return to their standard prices.
