In more news of a developer teasing an upcoming game features in a frustratingly short clip, Treyarch has released footage of Call of Duty: Black Ops 4’s Blackout battle royale mode. At a maddeningly short 13 seconds, the clip comes at the end of a more in-depth trailer for the game’s multiplayer beta, which starts this Friday.

Today’s brief introduction to Blackout includes helicopters, inflatable outboard motor boats, and all terrain vehicles marauding across a map comprised both of rocky desert-scapes and dense forested areas. It appears players will be able to commandeer helicopters as a squad, with two players mounted on the sides to provide suppressing fire.
Overall, the clip is a frantic mess of explosions, team-led assaults, and projectile blood splatters. A plethora of weapons are on show including heavy-duty assault rifles, rocket launchers, and sniper rifles. In essence, the clip doesn’t provide many more details than we already have though it does give visual context to what Treyarch are working on.
As mentioned above, the Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 multiplayer beta starts on August 3rd for PlayStation 4 owners, while Xbox One and PC players have to wait until August 10th to take part. The Blackout beta is scheduled for an as yet unspecified date in September though Treyarch and Activision have promised further details between now and then.
