Leak Suggests Red Dead Redemption 2 is Headed To PC

Surfacing from the bowels of the Red Dead Redemption subreddit, clues point towards the sequel releasing on PC. As of now, a PC version has yet to be announced or even hinted at by Rockstar. Having scoured LinkedIn for possible details about the game, a group of redditors known as Team Guru came across an unnamed Rockstar programmer who has Red Dead Redemption 2 listed on their profile alongside Grand Theft Auto V

and LA Noire. Next to the RDR 2 entry are the platforms worked on. Lo’ and behold, as clear as night and day, appears PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

Leak Suggests Red Dead Redemption 2 is Headed To PC

Of course, this is to be taken with a pinch of salt, though LinkedIn always tends to be a trustworthy source for leaks, which more often than not turn out to be true. Further adding credence to the news, any mention of a PC version was swiftly removed from the profile in question, presumably due to the traction the news has amassed over the weekend.

The original Red Dead Redemption sadly never reached PC causing cries of lamentation from masses of fans who were eager to experience the Western adventure in all its glory with better graphics and higher FPS.

A staggered platform release wouldn’t go against the grain of what Rockstar are accustomed to doing. Harking back to the release of Grand Theft Auto V, PS3 and Xbox 360 versions were available initially and about a year later, in conjunction with the launch of next generation consoles, the game came out for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. This approach led to a huge uptake in sales over a year after the game first released, and it’s no wonder Rockstar may be eager to orchestrate the same this time around.

Red Dead Redemption 2 launches for PS4 and Xbox One on October 26th with multiple editions packed full of exclusive swag and pre-order bonuses available for those wanting that authentic cowboy experience. In the meantime, check out the latest trailer if you haven’t had a chance to see it yet.
