Recently, it was officially announced that the film will be produced in the upcoming year 2027.
The Film Adaptation of BioShock is Scheduled for Production in 2027
In an interview with Collider, producer Roy Lee revealed that the movie’s development was supposed to start earlier. However, the project was delayed because he was busy working on the prequel films for The Hunger Games and The Long Walk.
Although the production has been delayed for nearly three years, Lee mentioned that this film project might become his main focus. Additionally, both Netflix and Take-Two Interactive are confident that the BioShock movie will be released and will be connected to their upcoming new game series in the future.
Lee has not yet confirmed the specific date when the film will begin production, but he has indicated that it will start in 2027. As for the game itself, BioShock 4 was announced last year, in 2019. Strauss Zelnick, the CEO of Take-Two, has assured that the game will be released.
To the best of our knowledge, this upcoming film will be set in the universe of the first game series, featuring a small-scale storyline. Additionally, there are rumors about new locations and characters being introduced in the fourth installment of the game series.
