GTA VI Will Be Released Only in Digital Format to Prevent Leaks
It appears that fans hoping to expand their physical copies of the GTA series with the upcoming release set in Vice City might be left disappointed. According to circulating rumors, Rockstar’s latest installment will solely be available as a digital release.
According to a report from a Polish-language website, PPE revealed that this highly anticipated game for gamers will only be released digitally in order to prevent story spoilers for Lucia and Jason. The information also mentions that sources selling physical copies of the game in Europe have stated that Take-Two does not plan to release a physical version in that region.
There is still a possibility that the physical version will be released later, possibly a few months after the digital launch. It is likely that the physical edition will come out several months following the digital release. Additionally, some reports suggest that the physical version might be available a few weeks after the digital version is released. At this point, it is not certain which of these two reports is accurate.
However, the source mentioned that additional details will be released in mid-February. Nonetheless, Take-Two’s decision appears to disappoint some gamers, especially since many are eagerly anticipating a physical or collector’s edition of GTA VI so they won’t have to purchase the game twice.
Alternatively, Rockstar could release a collector’s edition on the first day without including a physical copy of the game. This would, of course, be one of the biggest sources of disappointment in the history of GTA game launches.
