A Japanese game developer named Colopl has released the results of an internal survey conducted among its employees. This survey explored the extent to which their employees are utilizing AI technologies, such as Generative AI, in their work.
According to the results of a survey, Colopl’s developer found that 80% of its employees use Generative AI in their work. This survey was conducted with responses from 357 Colopl employees.
Reasons Employees Use AI Technology
There are numerous reasons and various job roles where employees utilize AI. Based on survey results, a slightly higher number of employees using AI come from Marketing and Management positions within the developer company Colopl.
In the meantime, those in the minority explained that their reason for not using AI is because they “feel no need to use it.” Additionally, some cited their main reason as being “concerned about potential legal and ethical issues.”
Then, for those who utilize AI technology, its use is reported to be in tasks such as “brainstorming,” “writing,” and serving as an “assistant for coding.” According to survey results, it is explained that 40% of employees using AI feel that their working hours can be reduced by about 40% or more. Meanwhile, 20% of reports indicate that AI usage can cut their working hours by approximately 60% or more.
After further investigation, it was found that the developer Colopl has indeed been open to using AI technology to assist their employees’ work in recent years.
Even though they encountered some issues with creating game characters using AI because they resembled others’ works, the developers at Colopl remain open to employing this technology for their employees.
