The official Warner Bros YouTube channel’s trailer for the Minecraft movie has garnered over 1 million dislikes from viewers, despite being watched more than 31.9 million times.
The number is significantly higher compared to those who liked the trailer for the Minecraft game movie adaptation, which had over 616,000 viewers. You can find the screenshot proof below.
Reasons the Movie Trailer is Receiving Many Dislikes
Based on the comments section of the video on Warner Bros’ YouTube Channel, there are several reasons why the video is receiving a negative response from viewers and gamers alike.
One reason is that they dislike the appearance of animated animals or monsters in the Minecraft world, as they are more realistic rather than fitting the game’s distinctive blocky or pixelated style.
Some of them even prefer that this movie adaptation be made into an animated film like Mario, rather than mixing it with live-action characters. Additionally, there are those who would rather see the film adapted in a style similar to the fan-made versions on YouTube.
Due to the large number of fans who disliked the video trailer, they are hoping for a controversy similar to the one that occurred with the first Sonic movie trailer, which showcased an unattractive Sonic design, to happen with the Minecraft film.
