The online action RPG game from Bandai Namco Online, Blue Protocol, has finally announced its service termination date. Blue Protocol, which only lasted for a little over a year, must cease operations as it is considered unprofitable for Bandai, the developer.
Blue Protocol Game Shuts Down After Over a Year
Through an official post on their social media account X, Blue Protocol announced that they will be shutting down the game’s services on January 18, 2025. This sudden announcement means that the game will not reach its second anniversary, as it is currently only 1 year and 7 months old.
This anime-style MMORPG seems unable to capture the hearts of fans due to its excessively grindy system and numerous gameplay issues, which have led to a loss of players in Japan.
The staff also apologized for the abrupt nature of the announcement. With the conclusion of Blue Protocol’s journey, players are left with just over 3 months to savor the remaining aspects of the game.
Although it had already been announced for a Western release, it seems that the closure of the main server has led to the cancellation of the Western release via Amazon Games.
