Sony Announces Second Sneaker Collab With Nike & Paul George

Not content with dominating the entertainment sphere, Sony is once again dipping its tendrils into fashion with the launch of a second pair of official PlayStation shoes.

As with the original PS trainers released back in February, the sneakers are the fruit of a collaboration with Nike, Sony PlayStation, as well as NBA star and Oklahoma City Thunder small forward, Paul George, hence the name PG 2.5 x PlayStation Colorway.

George says ‘I wanted to take the design old school, back to my earliest days of gaming. For me – as I’m sure many of you can relate – those memories date back to the original PlayStation. Working with Nike and PlayStation, we focused on bringing that original PlayStation inspiration to life in this new design’.

Sticking with that old school vibe and modelling itself on the original PlayStation console, the PG 2.5 are the classic PS off-gray color. There’s a classic PlayStation logo on the left lip, while the right is stamped with the PG logo. Both logos lights up and pulsate. Classy.

Along the heel section of the shoe, the iconic PlayStation square, triangle, cross, and circle buttons are embossed in patent leather. The shoe is adorned with a huge strap that runs across the front of the sneaker to ensure stability.

The sneakers aren’t for the faint of heart and won’t appeal to everyone’s sartorial sensibilities, but they sure are a statement. The PG 2.5’s officially drop just in time for the holiday season on December 1st. No news on a price range as of writing.
