If you’ve ever been tempted by the explosive FPS lark that is Overwatch then now’s your chance as Blizzard are lining up a week long free-to-play trial of the jewel in its extensive multiplayer gaming crown.
From next Tuesday November 20th to Monday November 26th, players on PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox can delve in for the grand sum of absolutely zero dollars, or equivalent local currency. Pre-downloads are already open so if tempted, you can have it locked and loaded in preparation. Time wise, the trial kicks off at 19:00 GMT, 11:00 AM PST, and 3AM SGT. For a full list of go-live times, Blizzard have provided a handy infographic.
The free trial grants access to the complete Overwatch game, from all 29 heroes and 19 maps, to every single mode including Quick Play, the array of Custom Game offerings, and training modes like the tutorial and Practice Range. Loot boxes, leveling up, and unlockable customization goodies also feature. If you decide to buy the full game at the end of the trial, progress will carry over regardless of platform.
To spice things up even further, Blizzard are running an exclusive rewards bonanza in parallel to the trial. Players can unlock limited time only in-game rewards. If their Blizzard and Twitch accounts are linked, they’ll also pick up three Ashe-themed sprays simply for watching two hours of streams featuring Overwatch.
With the addition of the brand new sassy gun-slinging hero, Ashe, and her equally fire powered mech companion B.O.B, it’s an ideal time to sample the delights of one of the biggest multiplayer games around.
