Vampire Survivors is the most popular title developed by solo developer Poncle, released in 2022. To date, the game has achieved an average score of 88 on OpenCritic across all platforms.
Poncle continuously offers updates by releasing new content, including expansions for Among Us and DLC for Castlevania. Recently, the developer made an official announcement confirming the upcoming addition of an online co-op mode!
Online Cooperative Mode in Vampire Survivors
In their latest trailer, Poncle announced the upcoming release of update version 1.14 for Vampire Survivors. This update will introduce several new features, including an online co-op mode that allows up to four players to play together!
It is not yet certain what additional content will be included in this roguelike game, but at least four major features are currently being teased. Recently, players have begun speculating about the contents of the upcoming Vampire Survivors DLC after the release of the Emerald Diorama expansion. Unfortunately, there has been no official announcement regarding the release date for update version 1.14.
Around the fall of 2024, Poncle announced that they would establish their own publishing division, focusing on smaller projects. In the future, this small studio will assist other developers through funding, development advice, platform support, release management, quality assurance, and similar services.
They also emphasize that any projects related to AI or Web3 will be outright rejected without consideration.
Although the game is a small indie title, Vampire Survivors is also planned to have a movie adaptation. This film project was officially approved earlier in 2025. The live-action Vampire Survivors movie will be produced by Story Kitchen, a studio known for adapting games into films or television shows.
Initially, this project was announced as an animated series. The release date for the film has not been disclosed yet, but Poncle mentioned that they prefer to take their time with the development in order to achieve the best possible result.
