When it comes to anime gacha games set in expansive open-world adventure environments that fans have eagerly awaited, Ananta by Naked Rain in collaboration with NetEase is definitely among the top titles worth mentioning.

First revealed in 2023, the game previously known as Project Mugen managed to attract significant attention and popularity, mainly due to its gameplay style that closely resembles that of Grand Theft Auto (GTA).

Recently, the developer released a new seven-minute trailer that provides a closer look at various gameplay elements and exploration features. You can watch the trailer

Based on the various gameplay elements highlighted above, players can anticipate a range of game combinations inspired by popular titles beyond GTA. These include web-swinging traversal akin to Marvel’s Spider-Man, combat styles similar to Batman: Arkham and Sifu, hacking features reminiscent of Watch Dogs, and many other exciting gameplay options.

Suspected removal of the Female Main Character option

A common feature in modern gacha games is offering players the ability to choose the gender of their main protagonist. However, in Ananta, it appears that players will start the game as a male protagonist (Male MC) from the very beginning.

It is still uncertain whether the female protagonist option has been completely removed or not, because her presence has only been hinted at through a few promotional images and a Shorts video. She has not appeared in any of the released trailers, including the one mentioned above.

According to their official website, only the main characters introduced initially are the Male Main Character, who is nicknamed Captain and serves as the protagonist, followed by other characters such as Taffy and Richie, who belong to the same organization as the captain.

Another aspect that might also be interesting is that in every new Ananta trailer, the main character is shown with different hairstyles.

There is no confirmed release date for Ananta yet, but it is expected to be available as a free-to-play game on PC, PlayStation 5, iOS, and Android platforms. At the time of writing, the game has already surpassed 10 million pre-registrations from players worldwide.
