Age of Empires 3 was initially launched in 2005 as a favorite Real-Time Strategy game among gamers. It serves as the sequel to Age of Empires 2: The Age of Kings for PC and PlayStation 2, released in 2005. Age of Empires 3 was extremely popular among gamers of the time, with its focus on European colonization of the Americas during the 1400s to 1800s.

Multiplayer Services for Age of Empires 3 Will Shut Down

Recently, the developer shared an update about Age of Empires III, announcing that the game will soon be available for free on Steam for loyal players. However, this announcement also included some bad news, as the multiplayer service for Age of Empires III is set to shut down on October 30th.

Starting today, the 2007 version of Age of Empires 3 will no longer be available for purchase. After providing support for many years, we are ceasing sales of this title. However, support will continue for Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition. Furthermore, on October 30, 2024, at 10 AM PT, the multiplayer service for the game will be discontinued. In other words, players can continue to enjoy this game, but only in Campaign and Skirmish modes. This is because the developers have announced that the multiplayer service will officially shut down on October 30th, while content for Age of Empires 3 will still receive maintenance and support.

Players can still enjoy Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition through Steam or the Windows Store, along with four additional DLCs that will enhance your gaming experience, especially in Campaign mode.
