Dragalia Lost Will Be Nintendo’s First Completely Original Mobile Game

Nintendo is going to release a completely new and original game… for mobile phones? Dragalia Lost will be released on both Android and iOS devices on September 27th in the US, Japan, Hong Kong, and Macau with other regions to be announced.

The game was first announced in April but, at that time, was still entirely Japanese

with no English translation to be found. The game is being made in partnership with Cygames who are the masterminds behind popular mobile games like Grandblue Fantasy and Rage of B ahamut. Now that a completely English-voiced trailer has been released it seems that Nintendo is gearing up for release.

As for the game itself, not too much is known right now. All we can see from the trailer is that it looks like your standard JRPG where you play as a teenage protagonist who is joined by a few companions to go on an epic adventure. We can also see that you will be able to transform into a dragon and who doesn’t love that. Furthermore, we can determine that the combat is not turn-based so any Nintendo lovers that hate turn-based combat can rest assured. In order to tell us more about the game, Nintendo has already announced that it will host a Nintendo Direct live stream later today which will be completely focused on Dragalia Lost. Make sure to check when the stream is live in your timezone.

Dragalia Lost is by far the first game that Nintendo has released for the mobile phones and most of their earlier released are actually really successful. However, none of them were fully original titles. We saw Mario in Super Mario Run, Pokémon in Pokémon Go and Magikarp Jump and Fire Emblem in Fire Emblem Heroes. It seems that after testing the water with these titles, Nintendo is fully committed to utilizing mobile phones as a gaming platform.
