The developer behind one of 2018’s most sold games on Steam, Digital Extremes, has just revealed that its hit title “Warframe” is coming to the Nintendo Switch. The announcement was made at TennoCon 2018, the third annual Warframe convention which took place earlier in Ontario, Canada. The trailer announcing the new port was recently uploaded to YouTube by the official Nintendo channel. You can check it out below.

The Warframe port is being developed by “Panic Button,” the same studio that worked on bringing Doom, Rocket League, and Wolfenstein: The New Colossus to the Switch. It goes without saying that the game is in good hands.

For those of you who haven’t played it yet, Warframe is a free-to-play, co-op sci-fi shooter that was released on the PC back in 2013, and then on Xbox One and PS4 a few months later. The game has players controlling the Tenno, a race of ninja-like warriors who are armed with both guns and blades, who have awoken from an age-old slumber to restore order throughout the universe. The Tenno can don over 35 unique Warframe armor sets, equip themselves with a huge array of weapons, and further customize these items through the use of the “mod system.” Players can join clans, raise pets, and explore a massive open world.
