Pokemon Quest To Be Released On IOS And Android

Pokemon Quest

A tweet from the official Japanese Pokémon Quest Twitter page has revealed that the game will see a mobile release next week. It already has a page up on the App Store and on Google Play. The App Store listing gives us the release date as June 28, which means it’ll be downloadable next Thursday. You can add the game to your wish list or pre-register for the game right now so you don’t forget!

Pokémon Quest, which already has more than 2.5 million downloads in less th an one month since it’s Switch release, is a completely new type of Pokémon experience that is more reminiscent of a mobile action game rather than the traditional turn-based RPG battles that we’ve come to associate with the franchise. Players control various Pokémon in a strange cube-like world where everything is comprised of small cubes. Instead of turn-based combat, the action in “Pokémon Quest” is real-time: players can command their Pokémon to use a variety of moves and upon using one, their is a cooldown period before that Pokémon can attack again. Sounds very different from what we’re used to right? To make this clearer, have a look at a bit of the gameplay from this Destructoid video.

The game does feature some more familiar aspects of other games in the series such as leveling up your Pokémon and building up a base camp among many others.

I’m looking forward to giving the game a try when it comes out next week for IOS and Android. It looks to be a solid combination of classic Pokémon fun with some interesting new twists. Best of all, it’s free-to-play. If you’re on the fence as to whether or not you’ll like it, just give it a try – it won’t cost you a penny!
