For better or for worse, a lot of games feature proximity chat. Despite Fortnite not being one of these, there’s quite a few threads on the Fortnite subreddit discussing the possibility. A new thread imagining what proximity chat in Fortnite would be like has recently been picking up steam and it’s definitely worth having a look if you haven’t already. Without spoiling anything, I’d say that it’s a pretty accurate representation of what players could expect to see if proximity chat was introduced into Fortnite. Just a word of advice, I’d recommend plugging in some earbuds or a headset before watching the video with sound.

I pretty much fell out of my chair laughing when I saw this. You can almost smell the fear of the other player after getting hit by the trap. He starts jumping wildly trying to escape up onto the stairs to no avail. Five seconds later, he’s receiving a shotgun blast to his face. The desperation was real!
To tell you the truth, I’ve never been a big fan of proximity chat. While I do think it’s very useful for coordinating with your teammates in some games, more often than not, I feel it’s just used as another way of trolling. So while I’m sure we’d get tons of hilarious clips like this if proximity chat was introduced to Fortnite, all things considered, I think I’m a lot happier without it.
