Rainbow Six Siege’s Operation Para Bellum Details Revealed

Today’s Pro League Finals weren’t only graced with high level game play, but also with a full reveal of Rainbow Six Siege: Operation Para Bellum. Ubisoft revealed the new operators and more details of the new Villa map among more mundane change such as balance, existing map changes (notably map buffs), and the new defuser.

First up we have Alibi, a thick-accented Italian CTU roaming defender who used her Prisma gadget to conjure up diverting holograms of herself, though with less detail and immobile. Shooting a hologram tags the shooter for a couple of moments, causing enough panic to disrupt enemy plans, but not enough to be overly powerful.

The other new operator is the utility anchor Maestro, another CTU operative that packs enough firepower that can quite literally blast through walls and floors with his automatic shotgun. Evil Eye is his gadget of choice. It’s a camera that can shoot lasers, no joke. Line two evil eyes up, load up the observation tool, and fire away. To boot, Evil Eye is immune to gunfire and could prove useful in scenarios where map and objective control is crucial.

Onto the new Rainbow Six Siege: Operation Para Bellum. Nestled in the rolling hills of what appears to be Tuscany, Villa is decked out with opulence in the form of marble statues, huge barrels of undoubtedly astronomically priced tipple, a taxidermy deer, grand staircases, and priceless works of art. The halls of the villa are ripe for up close and personal fighting, but also offer more distance-based exchanges as well. Outside, there is enough cover and access points for a multitude of tactical approaches. Ubisoft call it their ‘most competitive map to date’ and it is set to immediately enter the professional league on release. Villa is heading to test servers in a couple of day’s time on May 22nd.

Rainbow Six Siege’s Italian-flavoured Operation Para Bellum has a tentative release date scheduled for June 5th.
