Nintendo Is Looking For Designers To Work On New Zelda Game

Great news for Nintendo fans, the company is already hard at work on a new Zelda game and they’re looking for two new designers to join the team!

Resetera user “guru-guru” has some pretty keen eyes, as he noticed two new job listings for Zelda-related projects (via IGN) on Nintendo Japan’s official site. In his original post, guru-guru provides a translation of the listings noting that the company is looking for a “3DCG designer” and a “level designer” for a new Zelda

project.

The 3DCG designer would be responsible for producing terrain related graphics, including outdoor fields and indoor dungeons. The additional translated requirements are as follows:

-Requirements: experience making backgrounds in Maya and Adobe Photoshop; experience working on HD hardware; Japanese fluency
-Other skills that will help your application: experience making backgrounds specifically for an action game; experience making concept art; experience making assets in Substance Painter and Substance Designer; interest in Zelda; leadership experience

The level designer job listing notes that the position involves planning game events in both the overworld and in dungeons. Similar to the 3DCG designer gig, Japanese fluency is a must, as well as some experience working as a game planner for consumer games.

While the listings do not specify the exact Zelda game that these designers would be working on, the only two possibilities here are either a DLC for Breath of the Wild or a brand new title. Chances are it’s for the latter as there’s already a team working on DLC content for the game. Unless roles need to be replaced, it’s unlikely that new team members need to be added to this division. Furthermore, according to a note found in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Master Works, an official artbook for the game, development for the next Zelda game is already under way.

If you think you might have the skills to work on the project, you should definitely take a closer look at the job listing. Who knows? Maybe we’ll all be seeing your name when the credits scroll down after beating the next Zelda game!
