Apparently even French football pros manage to get some time in between practice and competitions to play a few games of Fortnite. After scoring a penalty kick in the 38th minute of the 2018 World Cup finals, French footballer Antoine Griezmann, did a victory celebration where he busted out Fortnite’s “Take the L” emote while on the field.

Griezmann‘s take on it is pretty accurate. Considering he also did it against Argentina in an earlier match, it seems like he’s rather fond of the move and probably has actually spent some time practicing it.
While many people might feel the amount of Fortnite news is starting to get a bit overwhelming, it’s hard to deny the huge impact and reach the game has had this year. Video game emotes making their way to one of the biggest traditional sporting events? I for one, never thought I’d live to see the day.
Whether you’re a Fortnite fan or not, you have to respect the fact the massive influence it is having on both gamers and non-gamers alike. It’s undoubtedly one of the best things to happen to the gaming industry.
