The inclusion of Denuvo in Persona 4 Revival on Steam has been confirmed following its announcement at the Xbox Game Showcase 2025 a short while ago. Although its arrival might have been anticipated by fans, it still comes as a surprise, especially considering that its predecessor, Persona 3 Reload, was released just last year.
Despite this, fans are eagerly anticipating yet another new version of Persona 4, a game widely recognized as one of the most frequently re-released JRPG titles by Atlus across nearly all gaming consoles. However, recent news about the game’s remake has caused some concern among PC gamers.
Persona 4 Revival’s Steam Page Reveals Game Will Include Denuvo
According to details on its Steam page, Persona 4 Revival is confirmed to incorporate Denuvo, a well-known third-party digital rights management (DRM) system that many PC gamers find troubling and oppose due to its anti-piracy measures.
This isn’t surprising since some of Atlus’s previous games, such as Persona 3 Reload and Shin Megami Tensei V Vengeance, have also employed similar anti-piracy measures. Additionally, Sega, as the publisher, has applied the same DRM to their games released on PC platforms.
However, the reality that Denuvo often reduces gaming performance cannot be ignored, making it one of the most disliked systems among PC gamers. In fact, Denuvo itself acknowledges this issue and even describes the player community on Steam as very toxic.
Is there any update on the release date for P4R?
Unfortunately, as of now, P-Studio and Sega have not announced a release date for P4R. However, according to Sega’s financial report obtained by a Twitter/X user named Shuinobi602, it is suspected that several games, including Persona P4R and Stranger Than Heaven, will be released sometime after April 2026.

On the official Steam page, Atlus and P-Studio, the developers, have announced a new update regarding language support for Persona 4 Revival. This support extends beyond just PC, including PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. Languages such as English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Korean, and Chinese are among those included.
