It’s been nearly a decade since the last installment, but the Digimon Story Time Stranger game is set to be released on October 3rd for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series S and X.
It turns out that the game Digimon Story Tame Stranger has an interesting fact revealed by its producer, Ryosuke Hara, during an interview.
Digimon Story Time Stranger Game Developed Over 7-8 Years

According to an interview with GameWatch, Producer Ryosuke Hara shared his insights on the development period of the game Digimon Story Time Stranger, along with some other topics.
According to Ryosuke Hara, the initial concept for Time Stranger was developed around the period when the expansion for Hacker’s Memory in Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth was released in 2017.
From that point onwards, developing the game Time Stranger took approximately 7 to 8 years. However, Ryosuke Hara revealed that the unexpectedly long development period was primarily due to the game’s narrative.
“We initially hoped for an earlier release, but the aspect that required the most time was perfecting the game’s design to highlight its main theme: the ‘relationship between humans and Digimon’, as well as developing the story and world centered around Olympos XII.” – Ryosuke Hara

The storyline of Time Stranger, along with its central theme, is something Ryosuke Hara hopes players will pay close attention to. It’s crafted to appeal to both long-time Digimon fans and newcomers to the franchise.
In his opinion, this is a narrative that can only be conveyed through Digimon, and he believes that if players complete it, they will understand what makes Digimon truly unique.
Ryosuke Hara also mentioned that the characters in the game are agents from a secret organization called “ADAMAS,” but initially, they are unaware of the existence of Digimon. The organization, however, is aware of Digimon’s presence.
As players embark on their adventure, they will eventually learn various aspects such as what Digimon are and how they are treated in this world, allowing new fans to also grasp the series.
Possesses the Largest Collection of Digimon Among Other Games

It’s not just the storyline and theme that contribute to the lengthy development process; the game Digimon Story Time Stranger also boasts the highest number of Digimon in the series’ history, featuring over 450 Digimon that bring the game to life with their 3D movements.
Ryosuke Hara mentioned that although his team could utilize some data from Cyber Sleuth, they needed to completely remake all the 3D models due to the transition from the PS Vita to modern hardware platforms.
Additionally, each Digimon NPC in the game appears in the city with their own unique movements, and now Digimon can be ridden and have their own special animations.
The release of Digimon Story Time Stranger is scheduled for October 3, 2025, on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series S and X. It appears that this game will be the largest Digimon game.
