Minecraft Creator Responds to Its Movie Adaptation
Using his X Twitter account, Markus Alexej Persson, known as Notch, the creator of the game Minecraft, shared his thoughts on the film adaptation of the game. He appears enthusiastic about the movie adaptation, even though many people or his fans seem displeased.
Furthermore, he expressed feeling a strange sensation upon learning what the film adaptation of his game would be like. Notch meant that he still finds it hard to believe that the Minecraft game he created has finally received an official movie adaptation from a major company like Warner Bros.

Furthermore, in several tweets on Twitter X, Notch expressed his happiness. He mentioned his surprise at actor Jack Black being cast in the film and playing the character Steve from the game. He also found the appearance of the Sheep in the movie amusing and noted that the Creeper looked different from the game version, though he still accepted the design, likening it to a Furry.
Response to Fans Who Dislike This Movie
Notch also seems to be addressing some comments from his fans about their dislike of the video trailer and the movie adaptation, noting that it appears different from the game.
In response to the comment, Notch mentioned that everyone has their own opinions about the game. For instance, as the creator, he has a positive view of the game. However, he understands these differing opinions because there are bound to be such differences between the creator and the players.
Notch also responded to his fans’ opinions about Jack Black playing the character Steve. Personally, he didn’t have any issues and actually found it amusing that the actor ended up portraying Steve in this Minecraft movie adaptation.
And naturally, Notch also responded to the fans’ comments suggesting that the film has a certain “woke” agenda. Notch clarified that he doesn’t care about the direction taken with his characters. Such matters should be reserved for when they attempt to integrate them into the lore.
In his opinion, the storyline for this movie can be developed in any way by the creators since he is the creator of Minecraft and cannot experience the game as a player. However, he has high hopes that actor Jack Black will portray the character Steve excellently in the film.
Additionally, Notch clarified that he has no involvement in the movie adaptation project, even though he is the creator of the Minecraft game. He personally believes that the film could be entertaining, but he is also preparing himself for the possibility that the Minecraft movie might turn out poorly.
