Concord is the first game by Firewalk Studios, a development team founded in 2018 and acquired by Sony Interactive Entertainment in April 2023. Initially developed as a collaborative project with ProbablyMonsters, the game was eventually revealed during the PlayStation Showcase in May 2023 through a CGI trailer.
Regrettably, although the excitement surged after its trailer was released, the beta phase in July only attracted a small number of players. Additionally, its recent full launch on PS5 and PC has also seen a player turnout that is significantly below expectations.
Why a Former Concord Developer Calls the Haters Weird

Following the lack of interest from players in the game, Xander Farrel, a former developer of Concord, expressed his frustration on Twitter X. He referred to those who dislike Concord as “untalented weirdos.”
The response came after another user commented on his post, saying that the game was released at an inopportune time. You can see the tweet below.
“I Don’t really care. It took an immense amount of hard work from many talented individuals to create an amazing game. Why should I be concerned about a group of odd people who dislike it?”
The response gained significant attention, causing Xander to delete the tweet immediately. As of the creation of this article (August 27th), he also set his X/Twitter account to private and removed his LinkedIn profile along with several other social media accounts.
The Peak Number of Players for This Game on Steam is Lower than That of the Game Gollum

Another user on X/Twitter mocked Concord, calling it a multiplayer game with just 600 players. This claim is not inaccurate, as on its first day of release, the hero shooter game only managed to attract 660 concurrent players.
Ironically, the number of concurrent players for that multiplayer game is still lower than one of the worst games from last year, The Lord of the Rings: Gollum. On its release day, the game developed by Daedalic Entertainment managed to reach 758 concurrent players.
That’s the information about a former Concord developer stating that those who dislike the game are weirdos. What do you think about Xander Farrel statement?
